Department
of Civil Engineering
About
the Department……..
Academic activities of the Civil
Engineering Department emphasize deep understanding of fundamental principles,
development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering
and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in
nature. The department also encourages its students to engage in
extracurricular and co-curricular activities which are essential for overall
personality development, nurturing of team spirit and developing organizational
skills.
The primary objective of the
department is to produce Civil Engineers with requisite knowledge and technical
skill in civil works and who are well equipped to serve in any capacity such as
those related to different aspects of Civil Engineering, viz. exploration, design, execution, operation and maintenance. The
course work is designed in such a way that proper learning skill of individual
student is developed by making him to work on current developments in various
disciplines of Civil Engineering.
Facilities……….
The department is equipped
with modern equipments catering to the requirement of the UG course, R & D
and consultancy work in various Civil Engineering disciplines. Environmental
Engineering laboratory is dedicated to water and waste water analysis and
design, computer aided structural analysis and design laboratory is intended to
strengthen theoretical concepts of structural analysis and design. Well
equipped laboratory facilities are available to carry out experimental and
analytical work. These include Geotechnical Engineering, Structural
Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Hydraulics and Hydraulics Machine,
Building Materials, Surveying and Geoinformatics Laboratories
etc.
